Well, I just realized that I never posted after Hailey had her tube surgery. I'm really sorry to leave everyone hanging. I have really been trying to be an "in-tune" mom...not be on the phone while Hailey is playing, checking out facebook or playing on the computer. I have tried to be there..mind, body and soul. Lately, I feel like my life is consumed with Hailey but I must say I love it. I have had much less time for friends and other things that I enjoy. I recently read this and believe that it is very true.....Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them (or talk to them) but you always know they are there.
With all that being said, Hailey's surgery went WONDERFUL. From the time we pulled out of the driveway until the time we pulled back in, was only a little over 2 hours. I had never been to the surgicenter and I must say we had a wonderful experience. Everyone was so friendly and things went very smooth. They even had little red wagons that were available to pull the kids around while you wait....we took full advantage of them and Hailey loved it. They use the red wagons to bring the kids back to surgery as well. I was so surprised....when the nurse came back to get Hailey, she reached right for the nurse. The nurse didn't even have to take her in the red wagon, she carried her back and she was happy as can be. That was the best feeling, I was so nervous that Hailey was going to be crying when they took her back.
She had her 2 weeks check up this week and Dr. Brodish said that everything looked great. He will not see her every 6 months to check them out.
Hailey has really started to walk so much more now. I am really wondering if all the fluid that had been building up in her ears was contributing to her being off balance. Right after she had surgery, she really took off.
